these were a pleasure to do, just tried to be loose and drop paint into wet paper
that is the true pleasure of watercolor

wildflowers

I did a few wildflower postcards for a challenge on wetcanvas, I won't post them all here, but will show a progression.  I am trying to loosen up a bit. they are painted straight on the paper, but the first one, I spent way too much time on, (the fewer the strokes the purer the painting) so it is muddy

today I sat on the bank of the creek and tried to capture a winter (leaves fallen)  aspen and the red and yellow fall colors of the willow on Prairie Iisland along the Devonian trail, drawn with micron .03  pen and painted with my Raphael travel kit and a waterbrush.

I did a quick pen sketch of this plant in a restaurant Saturday, and tonight brushed in a WC version on a WC postcard. it is called a Zamioculcus.
