Inspired by one of my favorite quotes "If you are not living on the Edge, you are taking up too much Space", and also the challenge of Larry Seiler, from whom I am following a teaching webcast on painting and stretching my boundarys, I am going to start a blog of 120 (or more) paintings, all postcard size, some from life, others from photos refs. they will be primarily watercolor, as I strive to become a better watercolorist, but I may also deviate into other areas as my fancy takes me. I love to experiment so you never know what might surface.

I love ink drawings colored with watercolor or colored ink. but I am also trying to lay color down without first drawing , trying to loosen up the compulsion to detail that I have

This one is one of my cats, Lacey. She is a little thing, who does not know that she is disabled. She was attacked by a tom cat when she was a couple months old. She sufferes from a crushed disc in her back, and also has a heart murmur. We did not know if she would ever walk again, but she is now 7 yrs old , walks and gallops about with a dog-track gate, is fearless but also codependant

STILE of life on the farm

another choice from the wetcanvas WDE, phot ref by Mo. I edited the reference to change the view through the stile, so the barn was framed . again using Creatacolor bloxx on a 8x8 WC pad, with a touch of pen on the stile itself. I turned the field of grass into a field of lavender

Coming Home

This was a crop of a reference from this weekends' WDE on wetcanvas. I drew with my paintbrush, so it is kind of loose. I love the galloping horses coming home to me. This is 8x8, and I used Creatacolor bloxx as pan paints
